2020 Graduation

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions on gatherings within Salt Lake County, only individuals personally invited by graduate families should attend the ceremony; however, we welcome you to attend an "Open House" style reception beginning at 4:00 pm and ending by 6:00 pm.  Location information has been provided to current UTCH members via e-mail. We only ask that you be prepared to maintain social distancing, possibly wait in line as we can only allow 50 people at a time in the pavilion in which the graduates will be receiving friends and family, and consider wearing a mask.

Our 2020 UTCH Graduating Class

Izmerai Juliet Alvarado

Izmerai was born on September 11, 2001 in Los Angeles. At the age of 4, she attended Calvary Chapel Christian school for a year. When her baby brother/best friend, Brian, was born, Izmerai’s family moved to Utah and were introduced to the Utah Christian Homeschool Association, which inspired her parents to start home-schooling. Her years of high school have been filled with education-al activities that included: Generation Joshua, volunteer work, and interning at the Utah State Capital; AWANA & Bible Bee which strengthened her relationship with God in more ways than she can express and gave her the gift of many amazing friendships. Her favorite educational activity, however, has been competitive Speech & Debate since the age of 13. Her personal hobbies are: working out, listening to music, making her family laugh, and hanging out with friends.

At the age of 16 Izmerai began working for her current job at In-N-Out, and she absolutely loves it. The first year was a bit rough, but it truly taught her the thrill and satisfaction of hard work. She plans to use the gift of hard work to take her far in life. In the summer she plans to do a lot of volunteer work to help her get a “feel” for what exactly she would like to do as her future career. Furthermore, she plans to attend SLCC in the fall and plans to pursue her interest in the medical field, specifically in Psychology and Child Development.

Emilie Ashlie Jensen

Emily was born in Layton, Utah as the second child of the Jensen family. She has a Chihuahua named Amy Ears Jensen - the dog for whom she has cared for over twelve years.

Emily is a very active person who gets bored easily. She has to move from project to project and the subject always changes.

Her true passion is that of an artist, never staying in one form for long. She is already an accomplished artist having starred in a few art shows and sold many paintings. Her paintings are never the same because of the constant need to try something new and interesting. She has dabbled in many different mediums ranging from costume design, photography to abstract art based on a single theme and anything in-between. Life is her can-vas, and she must always try something new. Activities galore from Girl Scouts, Youth group, UTCH Co-Op and Ziegfeld Art Academy.

Her life is there as a catalyst to spark her creativity.

Shannon Elizabeth Kerr

Shannon is currently finishing up her Bachelors Degree at Grand Canyon University in History in Secondary Education as she will be student-teaching this coming fall semester. She is looking forward to continuing her education by obtaining a Masters in Education and then pursuing a J.D. in Criminal Law.

Shannon has accomplished much during her UTCH years including; placing at national speech and debate competitions (fond memories of many road trips to tournaments and the many friendships formed), interning at the Utah State Capitol with Utah Eagle Forum, participating in the Generation Joshua student government club, and playing many recreation league volleyball seasons.

Most importantly, she has developed a love for the study of God’s word, prayer, and

ultimately is thrilled to see what His plans are for her life.

Faith Ann Mackert

She's a Miracle Baby. Her brother had an unwavering faith that she'd be born. Their bond is their most valued treasure.

From her first heartbeat, Faith's been a true testament of the Lord’s Love, grace, and promises. She's always had gift’s of empathy, compassion and working with children. She began writing, singing, and playing the guitar as an 11 year-old. When she was 14 she began teaching guitar and tutoring. At age 12 she began teaching in both her church and home school group and has been teaching PE these past 3 years. She has a love for healthy living through physical fitness and natural herbs/remedies. She’s in the process of becoming a Master Herbalist, and also on track to earn a Pilates Instructor Certificate.

Her goal has always been to marry a God-fearing, young man, and to raise a Biblical family. These certificates will enable her to work from home, while raising her children. She also has plans to get her degree in Biblical Counseling, and have an animal rescue.

Faith's currently working in the restaurant industry, and after just 2 months, was offered a management position as a 17 year-old. We are so happy for Faith, watching her grow in Christ, and staying true to the gifts He has blessed her with.

She's an encouragement & light to all who truly know her!
